Industry: E-Transformation in Dubai Government
Smart Dubai Government Establishment, also known as SDG or Smart Dubai Gov, is affiliated with Smart Dubai Office. It is a city-wide initiative to transform Dubai into the smartest city in the world. SDG supervises, in general, the implementation of the electronic transformation in Dubai Government.
SDG members were using several methods for tracking their tasks such as Excel sheets, emails, Asana, and many more traditional ways yet this was not good enough for generating reports to management to study and solve pain points found in the processes that already exist. Collaboration between team members was missing and the absence of proper planning, communications and agility led to serious problems such as the delay in service deliveries. On the other hand, development processes were suffering from the lack of a proper code system even in the presence of SVN as a source code management.
As a result, Smart Dubai Government was struggling to automate and track all tasks in their system, incorporate a proper collaboration system, deliver iterations on time with high quality, enhance development processes, and integrate with other systems such as Sonar, Remedy BMCm, and HP-ALM.
Infosysta provided a comprehensive analysis of the situation at SDG with a 4 months plan for iterative enhancements to be done progressively across all departments. Requirements gathering, analysis, brainstorming and collaboration with members led to new processes, demos, documentation, and most importantly agile culture building.
JIRA was introduced to all departments progressively as a task management solution with dashboards and KPIs for management to track and collaborate with their members and other departments.
Infosysta experts implemented the full SDLC process using the Atlassian suites; they contribute in enhancing their process by automating some tasks which save time for the developer such as auto create code review, autorun builds in Bamboo, auto create code review in Sonar, and auto update JIRA ticket status based on Bamboo build/code review results.
